Okay. I was in the profile screen and took a screen shot of what it is that I am seeing, which does not include a signature screen. After bangin' me head on the mizzen-mast so many times maybe I will discover that I really am on the wrong page. I cleard my cache and deleted my cookies and here is what I got:
So there it be, sirs. Am I really on the wrong page? It wouldn't be the first time a simple solution was right there and I overlooked it.
I guess it's really not that big of a deal as I don't have anything all that interesting to say, just the loss of 50 gold.

This is what happened me too. Tried to add more info to my profile but ended up losing my signature etc.. 
If you go to the profile edit and see the same (as the screenshots above show), DON'T press submit or you'll end up losing them too! |

^ If you mean the background of your avatar, then you just have to rechoose it again (and press Go in the avatar setup). Also delete your web history so you can see the change. Had the same problem but figured out this while ago. Hope this helps. |

So when is a hook for a hand going to be available in the shop? It may not be worth losing a hand for, but damn it makes a pirate look fearsome! |

I don't think we'll be adding more options to the avatar creator. I doubt I even have the skill to work on that tiny graphics after all these years.
A pity I didn't think of a hook for a hand back in the day...
