anti-virus exclusions support Links

Stumbled over a short list of links
(see further below)

Check your AV Product vendor Website FAQ, Support Section
or Support Forum
if not listed here or try a Google search

Last resort, contact your AV vendor support
(ensure you have the product version no to hand
as answers may vary with the version no)

Some Vendors offer Live Chat support

Your Internet Browser such as Chrome or Firefox etc, may also block downloads.
Check Your Browser Downloads List Option & keep the file if required
(Ctrl+J in Chrome or Firefox for Downloads List)

Very useful information. Smile Thanks for posting. It's a royal pain in the posterior to have one's AV software block a download.

mcafee

Google search on say mcaffee folder exclusion

How to exclude files from virus scans on Windows or macOS
https://www.mcafee.com/support/?page=shell&shell=article-view&articleId=TS102056

Document ID : TS102056

Use this article if:

You’re using a McAfee security product for Windows or macOS such as LiveSafe or Total Protection.

You want to exclude files from being scanned by your Windows or macOS security product.

Open your McAfee security software.

On the left menu, click the My Protection Widgets icon in McAfee security software for Windows tab.

Under Protect your PC, click Real-Time Scanning.

NOTE: The files that you exclude under this menu will also be excluded from On-Demand, Scheduled, and command-line scanning.

Under Excluded Files, click Add file.

Browse to, and select, the file that you want to exclude from being scanned.

Repeat the process as needed to exclude multiple files from being scanned.

After making these changes, the files are excluded from all scanning in your McAfee software.

Windows Security

Google search on say
windows defender folder exclusion

Add an exclusion to Windows Security

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-an-exclusion-to-windows-security-811816c0-4dfd-af4a-47e4-c301afe13b26#:~:text=Go%20to%20Start%20%3E%20Settings%20%3E%20Update,%2C%20file%20types%2C%20or%20process.

(paste complete link into your Browser)

if you trust a file, file type, folder, or a process that Windows Security has detected as malicious, you can stop Windows Security from alerting you or blocking the program by adding the file to the exclusions list.

Caution: Only do this for files that you're confident are safe. Adding an exclusion for an unsafe program could expose your systems and data to increased risk.

Windows 10

Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.

Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.

Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process. A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the folder as well.

Windows 11

Select Start , then open Settings . Under Privacy & security , select Virus & threat protection.

Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.

Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process. A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the folder as well.
