Firaxis went to great pains (Both conscious and unconscious) to make this game functionally un-modable.


Is there any known reason why they would make it unmoddable?

Simple answer:
Somebody had their head is a warm and dark place.
(All the way up to their ankles.)


It's too bad the game is not more moddable
Firaxis was soooo foolish not make it with more modding in mind...

game was built to be un-modable - then hit over the head, the designer fired and a new round of non-modability came to power - this was followed by a coup d'éta - that empowered a new dictator who detested modability.


Bad decisions in early development, followed up with non-existent customer service has yielded another Bargin-Bin Special at Wal*Mart.

They blocked all avenues of expansion. All true customization. All parameter editing. The only result -> there Shall Be No Sequils.

given Firaxis's entire response to the question of modability of this game, the only expected answer is

Actually they acted more like Sid just sold the rights to use his name and never ever saw the product.


Decisions by Firaxis during initial game development put an end to all true modding.

This cannot be done.


Firaxis ignored the suggestion.
