Hmmmm..it seems to me that Rupert could be a disgruntled ex-Firaxis employee. Anyone else think this?

I really don't know if we can accuse Rupert of being an ex-Firaxis employee. But we are still looking to pin the crime of stealing hardtack from the hardtack barrel on to someone. Maybe we can pin that one on Rupert. He could have done that evil deed... _________________

Maybe Rupert is the good guy wanting to fix the game and all... but, the mgmt team decided not to fund the project... So... he got fed up and left?
If that's the case... then he would be a friend of ours... |

Good one King Willy!
All kidding aside, I always apreciated Rupert's scepticism and criticism cause I think he has a point there. |

He just wants Pirates! to be the game he knows it could be if the folks at Firaxis just put a bit o' spit 'n polish in the code. I took him to task elsewhere here for laying on the "Firaxis = liars" talk a bit heavily, but I understand where he's coming from. I'll definitely be disappointed myself if the patch release drags (especially if folks buying Pirates! anew are now getting 1.02 copies) and I'll be nodding my head quietly when rupert lays into Firaxis (further) for it.
I've just had nothing but pleasant experiences with past Firaxis games (and here I mean Alpha Centauri, the Civil War collection, and Civilization III; I never did try Sim Golf) so my bias is perhaps tilted a wee bit too heavily in their favor (and tilted further when I reflect on the whole of Sid Meier's track record with past games). It's really good, on reflection, to have rupertlittlebears to balance things on the forum when you've got closet fanboys like me posting here and there. _________________ --/\/ Chaos Never Died |

I definitely think rupertlittlebear is a disgruntled ex-Firaxis employee
In the past two weeks he have had one "firaxis lies" post a day, maybe he's just recently fired? |

I don't know really. Rupert definitely does possess a vast amount of knowledge about the game. If there are any questions concerning this game then Rupert is definitely the man that has the correct answers. This is my guess as to who Rupert really is. I say that he is a disgruntled Sid Meyer in disguise. Think about it. Who else would know so much about the game other then Sid himself? He must be angry about parts of the game. I say that Rupert is really Sid Meyer. _________________

He got fired because he wanted to fix the game and firaxis didn't. _________________

That sounds like something Sid Meier would do.
Rupert's our friend no matter what. He is the answer man on many issues dealing with game play. If you want to know something about the game you ask Rupert. I still say that he is really Sid under the anonymous name of Rupertlittlebear. _________________

Whoever Rupert is... I think he is a fine pirate at heart.
Wait... pirate has no heart... otherwise we wouldn't be pirate would we... Darn the paradox side is creeping up on me again...
Better head to the Westley for another rum fix.
