Hello everyone!

It's the first time I post here, so... I just wanted to introduce myself Wink

I've bought Pirates last week, and after days of enjoyment, I decided to try to edit the faces governors'daughters.
I tried to use some old skins of 'The Sims' I had kept in my hard drive. I chaged the Sims face's size to 220x220, and it seemed that all was okay.

I pasted the sim face on the bmp, and, after some editing, I packed the dds, and exported in the "custom" folder.

The result was... scary. Her face was on her dress!!!! Shocked

I know what you think: "He forgot to rotate the image before saving it as a dds". No! I did it too.... the problem must be somwhere else, but honestly, I don't know where Confused .

Anyone could help me?
Anyone has customized faces already?

Thanks a lot!

(ps: Sorry for my english.... it isn't my native language Wink I do my best! really! Wink )

Oh my god! Post a screenshot of the face dress, that would be interesting to see. Sorta reminds ya of the movie Se7en.

Same effect if you take a copy of the Uber-Villan and re-name it to one of the plain-daughters.

You have to place the new face on top of the old face.

well, actually that's exactly what I did:

I unpacked pack 5 (in the assets folder)
I opened the daughter dds image with DXTBmp
I saved it as a bmp
I opened it with Photoshop 7
I opened a 2D Sims face with photoshop, and resized it.
I cut and pasted the Face on the original Pirates! bmp
I edited the pic.
I saved my work on the bmp image
Using DXTBmp, I saved the daughter file as a dds
And I packed it....

and.... that doesn't work.

I hope Firaxis will develop a kind of Skin editing program, so that we can chage the graphics as easily as in "The Sims" or games like that. Idea

Hmm, I hope it is at least a custom sims face...me I think the faces in pirates are much better. Most of the female faces in sims 2 look like space mutants.

Sounds strange. Try something simpler. I managed to put facial hair on one of the ladies, no problems.

I do something similar, but keep DXTBmp open and use its option of send to editor. Keep MSPaint open, save as . . .
Edit that in my favorite editor, save in a different name, drag and drop that into/onto the open MSPaint, then save as that nifty hidden file that DXTBmp wants to use in a hidden folder under Documents and Settings(?) (file name is Norm, easiest way to find where it is exactly is to use the Windows search function).
Close MSPaint, the image in DXTBmp has not changed, but its file has! Then use DXTBmp to save as DDS (with alpha).

Awkward, but usable.
