the usual suggestions
there shall be a landmark in the sea somewhere that is associated with this map
so find one and go ashore

once on shore if you can walk through landmarks,
you are in the wrong area

if you cannot walk through landmarks, start searching.

In which case you should get back on your boat and sail further north until you find the next landmark on the sea.
